I'm not in Humboldt County, how can I rent a tub?
Contact Aquadoula, or Waterbirth International, they both have a mail order service.

I do require a $50 deposit, there are no late fees or time limits.
What if I go way overdue?
Doesnt matter. Feel free to pass along an update if you go really late. Calling heavily pregnant women and saying, "Havent you had that baby YET?" is not my scene.
How soon should I reserve a tub?
A month or 3 in advance is handy. If you are due in June, July, August or September, you may want to error on the side of caution.
What do I need to have for a home birth?
A Garden Hose (used is fine)Cash for the rental fee (sorry no checks)
What do I need to have for a hospital birth?
Your own sweet self. However, your practitioner may require additional tests and you must attend one of Mad River's Waterbirth Orientations held on the 2nd Monday of the month at 6:30 at Mad River Community Hospital's Birth Center. Can't make it? Contact Joanne Grace at 826-8244 for more information.
How long does the tub take to fill?
At home, about 1.5 hours, on average. At the hospital, about 45 minutes.
